About TSOTT
The purpose of TSOTT is to promote standards of care of respiratory diseases and to advance knowledge and research in respiratory disease and to advance public education and promote the relevance and importance of respiratory medicine. In so doing we wish to keep our community informed about issues related to the lung and thorax and their disorders and to promote respiratory health and the prevention of respiratory disease.
The society will network specialists in thoracic medicine who treat diseases related to the lungs, including pulmonary disease, lung cancer and other chronic lung conditions. It seeks to promote standards of care of respiratory diseases, to advance knowledge and research, to advance public education and to promote the relevance and importance of respiratory medicine. There will be continual dissemination of information and it will promote respiratory health and the prevention of respiratory diseases.
Aims of TSOTT
The Aims of The Thoracic Society of Trinidad and Tobago are to increase awareness of the prevalence of respiratory diseases in Trinidad and Tobago and to develop and maintain guidelines for the treatment of respiratory disease and related disorders.
We also aim to advance knowledge and research by:
- encouraging basic, clinical operational research and it’s approved publication
- providing a forum for the presentation and critical appraisal of research activities in respiratory medicine
- providing the means for the publication of original research
Objectives of TSOTT
The relief of sickness and the preservation and protection of public health by promoting the best standards of care for patients with respiratory and associated disorders, advancing knowledge about their causes, prevention and treatment and promoting the prevention of respiratory disorders.The Aims of The Thoracic Society of Trinidad and Tobago are to increase awareness of the prevalence of respiratory diseases in Trinidad and Tobago and to develop and maintain guidelines for the treatment of respiratory disease and related disorders.
